Huawei has received over 2.7 million pre-orders for its tri-fold smartphone, the Mate XT, which began pre-orders ahead of Apple’s iPhone 16 launch. The Chinese company is set to officially launch the device on September 20, but the price has not yet been revealed. Apple recently fell out of the top five smartphone vendors in China, with domestic players holding all five spots according to Canalys. Huawei ranked fourth in market share, shipping 10.6 million smartphones in the second quarter. Apple, on the other hand, shipped 10 million phones in the first quarter. While Huawei and other Chinese competitors already sell folding and flip phones, Apple has yet to enter those categories.
