Cowgirls Dominate Southern Nazarene in Exhibition Match, Winning 81-46


In a dominant display, the Oklahoma State women’s basketball team started their season with an 81-46 victory over Southern Nazarene. Stacie Jones led the team with 22 points, while Anna Gret Asi, Macey Huard, and Alexia Smith also scored in double digits. The team, under new coach Jacie Hoyt, extended their exhibition winning streak to 28 games.

The Cowgirls jumped out to an early lead, outscoring their opponents in every quarter. They held Southern Nazarene to just 25% shooting and dominated in the paint, outrebounding them 45-22 and outscoring them 44-22 inside.

Asi was a standout player, scoring or assisting on seven points in the first quarter and finishing with 16 points overall. Jones, a transfer from Mercer, contributed 22 points, while Huard and Smith added 14 and 13 points respectively.

The victory sets a promising tone for the upcoming regular season for Oklahoma State. Their next game will be against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Gallagher-Iba Arena on November 4. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ at 5 p.m.
