Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma Launches 2023 Angel Tree Program
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma has officially launched its annual Angel Tree program, which aims to bring holiday cheer to local children and families in need. This beloved initiative allows community members to sponsor children by purchasing gifts that fulfill their holiday wishes.
The program is designed to support low-income families facing financial hardships, especially during the festive season. By adopting an Angel from the tree, individuals and organizations can provide toys, clothing, and other essential items to children aged 0 to 12 years old. Each Angel tag features a child’s age, gender, and gift requests, making it easy for donors to select appropriate items.
The kick-off event, attended by local leaders and community members, emphasized the importance of giving back during the holidays. Participants were reminded of the significant impact the program has on the lives of children and families in the area, as it not only provides material gifts but also fosters a sense of hope and joy.
To participate, those interested can visit various locations around the city where Angel Trees are set up, including shopping malls and local businesses. Donors are encouraged to return the gifts by the designated deadline to ensure they are distributed in time for Christmas.
The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma is inviting the entire community to join in its mission to make the holidays brighter for those in need. With the ongoing challenges of inflation and economic strain, the success of the Angel Tree program relies heavily on community support.
For more information on how to adopt an Angel or to contribute to the program, interested individuals can visit the Salvation Army’s website or contact their local branch. Together, they can create a joyful holiday season for children in the Oklahoma City area.
