The bullet lodged in a fatty area of his stomach, but no surgery was required as it did not hit any vital organs. Sundance’s wife confirmed on Facebook that surgery would not be necessary and called for prayers for her husband. The injury was likely caused by a nearby hunter’s stray gunfire, according to his agent. Sundance, coached by Blake Shelton during ‘The Voice,’ had released four albums in his career and returned to the show last year for Shelton’s send-off.
