Sundance Head, ‘The Voice’ winner, injured by stray bullet on Texas ranch

Country singer Sundance Head, winner of ‘The Voice’ Season 11, was injured by a stray bullet at his ranch in Texas and was taken to a hospital in Tyler for treatment. The bullet lodged in a fatty area of his stomach, but no surgery was required as it did not hit any vital organs. Sundance’s wife confirmed on Facebook that surgery would not be necessary and called for prayers for her husband. The injury was likely caused by a nearby hunter’s stray gunfire, according to his agent. Sundance, coached by Blake Shelton during ‘The Voice,’ had released four albums in his career and returned to the show last year for Shelton’s send-off. Despite coming from a musical family, Sundance did not find success in music until later in life and had previously appeared on ‘American Idol.’ NBCUniversal Media, LLC is the parent company of both ‘The Voice’ and NBC News. No further details on the incident were immediately available.
