One person killed in Arizona after jet collides with parked plane near Scottsdale airport

One person was killed and four others were injured when a plane collided with another on the ground near Scottsdale Airport in Arizona. The crash occurred around 2:39 p.m., with one person found dead on arrival. Two of the injured were in critical condition, one’s condition was not given, and a fourth refused treatment. The crash was said to have been caused by the failure of one of the arriving plane’s main landing gear, resulting in the accident. The FAA reported that a Learjet 35A veered off the runway and crashed into a Gulfstream 200 business jet. The plane belonging to Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil was involved in the crash, but he was not on board. The plane that was struck belonged to a local private jet charter company, and no one on board was injured. Flights at the airport were paused as the investigation began. Scottsdale Airport later announced that it had reopened. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and first responders are continuing to work at the scene.
