The UT Arlington softball team is set to host the nationally-ranked Oklahoma team at Allan Saxe Field on April 1. This will be the second time UTA has hosted a top 2 team this season. Currently, the Mavericks have a record of 21-13 with a strong 14-11 record at home. The team’s offense is led by junior Kailee Bautista, freshman Talia Maldonado, and sophomore Kaitlyn Sailor, while senior Jessica Adams and pitcher Emilie Hoelscher anchor the pitching staff. UTA was recently named no. 25 on D1Softball’s Mid-Major Rankings, marking the first time the team has been on such a list. Head coach Kara Dill and her team earned their 20th win in a recent game against Baylor.
Following the game against Oklahoma, UTA will have a brief break before heading to California for a three-game series against California Baptist starting on April 11.
