Doctors and dentists were honored for their critical roles in treating the wounded, with over 500 adults and 38 children receiving care in the hours following the bombing. Dr. Philip Mosca and Dr. Andy Sullivan shared their experiences of providing life-saving treatments, including amputating a survivor’s leg for evacuation and working through the night to save vision in patients with eye trauma.
The dedication and heroism of the medical professionals who responded to the Oklahoma City bombing were recognized at the memorial. Dr. Sullivan emphasized that their actions were a result of their training and experience, highlighting the importance of being prepared for such tragedies.
