Tragic incident at Nevada ski resort claims the life of 7-year-old struck by falling boulder


A 7-year-old girl named Adelyn Grimes from Reno, Nevada, tragically died after being struck by a falling boulder at Diamond Peak Ski Resort in Incline Village. The incident was ruled as an accident by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. The ski resort expressed their heartfelt condolences to the girl’s family. Medical services were called at 3:38 p.m. and the ski patrol, North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, and Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Despite their efforts, the child succumbed to her injuries. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the death, confirmed that there was no foul play involved and described it as a tragic accident, offering their deepest condolences to all involved. Diamond Peak Ski Resort is located northeast of the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe.
