As Oklahoma City commemorates the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing, one survivor’s story stands out. Madison Naylor, one of the youngest survivors, was just a baby at the YMCA daycare near the building when it was bombed. Although she doesn’t remember the day, it has forever shaped who she is. Her mom recalls the chaos and how she found Madison in the arms of a stranger on the street.
Now, 30 years later, Naylor is about to complete her pediatric residency at OU Health, fulfilling her dream of helping children like her. She feels a sense of duty to be a voice of good for Oklahoma and represent her state positively. With only a few months left in her residency, Naylor is determined to be a beacon of light for others and plans to stay and practice in Oklahoma City.
Naylor’s incredible journey from being a survivor of one of America’s darkest days to becoming a pediatrician is a testament to her resilience and determination. She hopes to bring healing and hope to others, inspired by her own experience.
