The No. 17 Oklahoma State softball team suffered an 11-3 loss to No. 2 Oklahoma in front of a record-breaking crowd at Devon Park. Despite taking an early lead, the Cowgirls couldn’t hold off the Sooners, who erupted for five runs in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth to end the game early via run rule. Pitcher Ruby Meylan took the loss for OSU, while Sam Landry earned the win for OU.
The game counted towards the People of Oklahoma Oil and Natural Gas Bedlam Series standings, narrowing OSU’s all-sports lead over OU to 5-3 for the year. Oklahoma State has historically dominated the Bedlam Series, winning 10 of the last 12 seasons.
Looking ahead, the Cowgirls will aim to bounce back as they return home for a three-game weekend series against Iowa State, starting on Friday at noon in Stillwater. With a current record of 23-12, Oklahoma State will seek to regroup and secure wins in the upcoming games to maintain their momentum in conference play.
