Fasusi Embraces the Challenge in Debut Spring with Oklahoma Football: ‘Continued Growth and Learning’

Oklahoma freshman offensive lineman Michael Fasusi has been embracing the challenges of transitioning from high school football to the college game. Despite the difficulties, Fasusi recognizes that if it’s hard, then it’s worth pursuing. The former five-star recruit has been working on his physical, mental, and technical development since arriving on campus. He has been focused on mastering angles, improving footwork, fine-tuning hand strikes, and building football IQ through film study.

Fasusi has also been grateful for the support of his coaches and teammates, with redshirt freshman Logan Howland serving as a key mentor in the offensive line room. Fasusi has been tested early by going up against Oklahoma’s deep group of defensive linemen, including edge rushers like R Mason Thomas, PJ Adebawore, and Taylor Wein. He has particularly enjoyed facing off against Taylor Wein, who brings intensity and is always looking out for his teammates.

As his first spring with the team comes to a close, Fasusi is focused on continuing to learn and grow. He acknowledges that the road ahead won’t be easy, but he is determined to put in the work to achieve his goals. Fasusi is dedicated to watching film, working on his technique, and developing as a player. Overall, Fasusi’s positive attitude and dedication to improvement are evident as he navigates the challenges of college football.
