Man from Oklahoma arrested following fast-moving pursuit involving stolen car and drug use

On April 3, 2025, a pursuit initiated by the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) in Oklahoma led to the arrest of Everett Myers, who was driving a stolen vehicle and attempted to flee during a traffic stop. The pursuit began after a GRDA officer noticed a vehicle without a license plate and attempted to stop the driver, who was later identified as Myers. Myers fled the area near Chouteau on US 412, but was eventually stopped by Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers. During the pursuit, Myers drove backwards, striking a tree and then a trooper’s patrol unit before multiple OHP units were able to disable his vehicle. Myers, who admitted to using methamphetamine and showing signs of alcohol impairment, also matched the description of a suspect wanted in connection to two other auto burglaries in Tulsa. He was arrested and charged with felony eluding, aggravated assault and battery on a police officer, driving under the influence, and unlawful entry of a business. This incident highlights the dangers of impaired driving and the importance of law enforcement efforts to protect the community. For more local news, sign up for the daily newsletter.
