Cody A. Balmer, 38, was charged with several counts including attempted criminal homicide, aggravated arson, burglary, and terrorism after allegedly starting a fire at Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s home over the weekend. Balmer allegedly climbed the fence, used a hammer to break a window, and threw Molotov Cocktails inside the residence to start the blaze. The incident occurred early Sunday morning while Gov. Shapiro and his family were inside, but fortunately, no one was injured. First responders quickly extinguished the fire, which caused substantial damage to the property. The Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office announced the charges on Monday. Balmer’s motive for the attack is unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
