Hollywood matchmaker Amber Kelleher-Andrews, who profoundly impacted the world of relationships, has passed away at 56 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Her family announced her death on April 13, revealing that she would be laid to rest in Hanalei, Hawaii.
Kelleher-Andrews, who transitioned from being a model and actress to a renowned matchmaker, gained national recognition for her work on the NBC reality series “Ready for Love” in 2013, alongside actress Eva Longoria. Over the years, she also served as a relationship expert on popular shows including “Good Morning America,” “Today,” and “20/20.”
Her client roster included prominent figures like former “Today” host Hoda Kotb, singer Paula Abdul, comedian David Spade, and former NFL star Terrell Owens. Kelleher-Andrews’s cousin, Morgan Kelleher, reflected on her legacy, saying, “She was larger than life and had an infectious laugh.”
Diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2017, Kelleher-Andrews initially achieved remission within three months. However, the cancer returned with increased severity. Despite her struggles, she maintained her sense of humor and zest for life, always making others laugh.
As CEO of Kelleher International, the prominent matchmaking firm founded by her mother, Kelleher-Andrews played a pivotal role in shaping the industry. She was also involved with Virgin Unite, a charity founded by Richard Branson, who praised her as a “treasure” whose joy and purpose touched countless lives.
