Press Release: Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon 5K Rescheduled Due to Severe Weather

Oklahoma City, OK – April 26, 2025 — The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon officials announced the rescheduling of the 5K race, originally set for Saturday, due to severe weather conditions, including lightning and flash flooding. The race will now be held on Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. on a newly designated course.

The decision to cancel the original race was made with the safety of participants in mind. As a result, officials have recommended that runners assemble along Hudson or Robinson avenues and refrain from entering the starting area until the earlier races conclude, anticipated to be around 7 a.m.

Attendees are advised to arrive well in advance to secure parking and are encouraged to consider carpooling or being dropped off, given the expected turnout.

This event is part of a series honoring the Oklahoma City bombing victims, drawing both local and national participants. Despite the setbacks, the event symbolizes resilience and community spirit.
