Oklahoma NFL Draft Live Update: Tracking Sooners Players’ Selections in 2025

Press Release: Former OU Standouts Make Their Mark in 2025 NFL Draft

As the 2025 NFL Draft unfolds in Green Bay, Wisconsin, former Oklahoma Sooners football players are keenly awaiting their professional futures. Notably, only three Sooners—linebacker Danny Stutsman, safety Billy Bowman, and edge rusher Ethan Downs—are projected to be selected this weekend.

Billy Bowman was the first of the trio to hear his name called, being picked 118th overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round. In his four years as a starter for OU, Bowman tallied an impressive 11 interceptions, leading the nation in interception return yards during the 2022-23 season with 249. His outstanding performance earned him a spot on the All-SEC Third Team, solidifying his status as a player to watch in the NFC South.

Danny Stutsman followed suit, selected 112th overall by the New Orleans Saints. The linebacker had a remarkable college career, starting 37 of 47 games and recording 376 tackles, 36 tackles for loss, and eight sacks. A consensus All-American and Butkus Award finalist, Stutsman ranks ninth in career tackles in OU history. He joins former OU quarterback Spencer Rattler in New Orleans, looking to continue the legacy of excellence from their college days.

As the draft progresses, anticipation remains high for the selection of Ethan Downs, the last of the trio awaiting his opportunity to shine at the professional level.

The 2025 NFL Draft continues with its second and third rounds on Friday evening, showcasing the next generation of football talent. Fans can tune in via NFL Network, ABC, and ESPN, with streaming available on NFL+ and ESPN+.
