Federal Agents Conduct Mistaken Raid on Oklahoma City Home
A woman and her three daughters recently experienced an alarming situation when federal agents mistakenly raided their new home in Oklahoma City, seizing their belongings, including cash savings and electronics. The woman, known as Marisa, had relocated from Maryland just two weeks prior to the incident, while her husband remained behind temporarily.
The raid occurred early Thursday morning, as approximately 20 armed agents from ICE, the FBI, and US Marshals entered her home before sunrise, presenting a search warrant. However, the names listed on the warrant did not belong to Marisa or her daughters, leading her to believe the document referenced former tenants whose mail continues to arrive at their residence.
Marisa expressed shock and distress over the treatment they received, saying, “They were treating us like criminals.” During the raid, the agents forced her and her daughters outside in the rain, without allowing them to dress appropriately. “You have her out there, a minor, in her underwear,” she lamented.
The agents conducted a thorough search of the home, ultimately confiscating their personal electronics and cash, which Marisa described as their life’s savings. “I told them before they left… we have no money. How do you just leave me like this?” she questioned.
Although the US Marshals Service acknowledged awareness of the operation, they stated they were not involved. Initially, the FBI confirmed their involvement but later claimed they were not at the scene during the incident. Marisa’s unsettling experience highlights concerns over accountability and the impact of law enforcement errors on innocent families.
