Texas EquuSearch Concludes Search for Missing 8-Year-Old Clara Robinson
In a heartfelt announcement, Texas EquuSearch has officially ended its search for Clara Robinson, an 8-year-old girl who disappeared after being swept away by floodwaters in Sherman, Texas, on Christmas Eve. The tragic incident claimed the life of her father, Will Robinson, who drowned while attempting to rescue her.
Initiating search efforts in mid-January, Texas EquuSearch replaced the Sherman Police Department in the search for Clara. The nonprofit organization, known for its tireless efforts to locate missing persons, announced on social media that it concluded operations after a comprehensive ground and underwater search on Sunday. The emotional decision to halt the search was deemed "difficult and gut-wrenching."
While Texas EquuSearch has officially concluded its search, it stated that local dive teams will continue independent efforts. The organization remains receptive to revisiting the search should new strategies or plans emerge. They expressed gratitude to all involved in the search mission, emphasizing that Clara "remains in all of our hearts."
The extensive search encompassed challenging terrains and utilized a variety of resources, including foot searchers, drones, K9 teams, and underwater recovery specialists. The final ground operation wrapped up on February 17, followed by focused underwater searches led by skilled volunteers.
In an effort to aid the search, Texas EquuSearch also shared details of Clara’s missing clothing—a pink pajama set and tan suede boots—urging community members, especially those near Post Oak and Choctaw Creeks, to remain vigilant for any items that might assist in locating her.
This tragedy has deeply affected the community, which has rallied in support of Clara’s family. Texas EquuSearch, founded in 2000 by Tim Miller, operates solely on donations, providing valuable services free of charge.
