Oklahoma State Welcomes Experienced Point Guard Jaylen Curry to Roster
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State’s men’s basketball team has bolstered its lineup with the addition of point guard Jaylen Curry, a talented transfer from UMass. The 6-foot junior is expected to make an immediate impact this fall after an impressive two-year stint with the Minutemen, where he averaged 13.3 points, 3.9 assists, and 1.2 steals in the 2024-25 season. Notably, he achieved an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.67-to-1, ranking him 22nd nationally.
“Jaylen brings speed, toughness, and scoring ability to our backcourt,” said head coach Steve Lutz. “He has a great feel for the game and plays with an edge that I really like. I’m excited to welcome him to Stillwater.” Under Curry’s leadership, UMass ranked among the top 50 fastest teams in college basketball, showcasing his ability to push the pace with nearly 20% of possessions in transition.
His standout performances included four games scoring 20 points or more, most notably a season-high 24 against Northeastern, and a remarkable 12 assists in his season opener against New Hampshire. Prior to his college career, Curry established himself as a top recruit in the Class of 2023, earning a gold medal with Team USA at the 2021 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
Curry joins a growing roster at Oklahoma State, marking him as the tenth member of the 2025 recruiting class and the seventh Division I transfer. His experience and skillset are anticipated to enhance the Cowboys’ competitiveness in the upcoming season. As the team prepares for the challenges ahead, Curry’s addition fortifies Oklahoma State’s commitment to building a high-caliber program.
