The Met Gala made history Monday night by centering its theme on Black history, style, and fashion, showcasing the incredible talent of prominent Black designers and stylists. Among those making waves was musician Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton’s men’s creative director, who crafted standout looks for various celebrities. One notable outfit was worn by Sabrina Carpenter, who humorously lamented the challenges of restroom access in her eye-catching ensemble.

Fashion house Balmain, led by designer Olivier Rousteing, contributed several striking looks. Lionel Nichols collaborated on outfits for Jeremy O. Harris, actress Priyanka Chopra, and Grammy-winning artist Rosalía, while also working on Diana Ross’s stunning gown.

Race car driver Lewis Hamilton and artist FKA Twigs donned designs by Grace Wales Bonner, celebrated for her fusion of sportswear and tailored elegance. Hamilton expressed the deeper significance behind his look, stating, “The ivory represents purity… the suit is so fly, I love this.”

Comedian and actress Quinta Brunson turned heads in a striking ensemble inspired by the legendary Josephine Baker, designed by Sergio Hudson, who revealed he dressed 16 individuals for this iconic event. "Project Runway" winner Bishme Cromartie also made a mark with two designs, including one for entertainment reporter Zuri Hall.

Reviewing the event, notable figures like La La Anthony and Pharrell Williams paid tribute to the late Virgil Abloh, creative director of LVMH and founder of Off-White, whose impact continues to resonate.

Renowned stylist Law Roach graced the carpet independently this year, while Gabriella Karefa-Johnson crafted an enchanting look for Gigi Hadid, inspired by classic Hollywood designer Zelda Wynn Valdes. The evening highlighted the diverse creativity and rich cultural influence of Black fashion, setting a powerful precedent for the future of the Met Gala.
