Tessa Dorrell Crowned Miss Oklahoma 2025
OKLAHOMA CITY — Tessa Dorrell, representing Broken Arrow, was crowned Miss Oklahoma 2025 during a competitive finale at the Rose State Performing Arts Center on June 7. The Oklahoma State University graduate, who holds a degree in sports media, will now advance to represent Oklahoma at the Miss America competition.
Dorrell was among 40 contestants vying for the prestigious title, and her achievement includes a $30,000 scholarship to support her education. She is the 91st woman to gain this accolade in the program’s history.
Demonstrating her passion during the talent segment, Dorrell performed a heartfelt spoken word monologue titled “Walking in My Shoes.” Her Community Service Initiative is focused on “Partners Club: Empowering Special Education in Oklahoma.” "Partners Club fosters empathy and understanding among all students,” she stated. “By bridging the gap between students with and without disabilities, we create an environment of mutual respect and learning that highlights the value of diversity in education.”
Dorrell’s path to the crown was not without strong competition. The top five finalists included Jaselyn Rossman, Miss OSU, who was named first runner-up (awarded a $15,000 scholarship), second runner-up Mia-Lynne Smith from the Miss Oklahoma State Fair ($10,000 scholarship), third runner-up Jessica Davis from Miss Northwestern ($7,000 scholarship), and fourth runner-up Miriam Lowe, representing Miss Tulsa ($5,000 scholarship).
The Miss Oklahoma Organization awards over $2 million in scholarships annually, reflecting its commitment to empowering young women. Contestants are assessed in various categories, including interview, talent, health and fitness, and evening wear—aiming to develop leadership skills and talents in the participants.
