University of Oklahoma Expands Football Staff with New Hires
NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department announced the hiring of key personnel for its football program on Monday, pending approval from the OU Board of Regents this week. This development is part of the Sooners’ strategic initiative to modernize their operations with a professionalized model for college football.
General Manager for Football Jim Nagy, who joined the university in February, has appointed several experts to his staff, including:
- Lake Dawson as Senior Assistant General Manager
- Taylor Redd as Assistant General Manager
- Drew Hill as Director of Scouting
- Kale Pearson as Director of High School Scouting
- Stacey Ford as Director of Player Personnel and Retainment
- Charlie Parkinson as Assistant Director of College Scouting
Nagy expressed enthusiasm about the new hires, stating, "This is an exciting time for Oklahoma Football…We have a great blend of diverse backgrounds from both the NFL and collegiate levels." Collectively, the staff brings over 60 years of collegiate and 67 years of NFL experience, contributing to a competitive edge for the Sooners.
Key hires include Lake Dawson, who boasts extensive experience in NFL front offices, and Taylor Redd, formerly with the New England Patriots. Drew Hill steps into his new role after 11 years with the Sooners, while Kale Pearson and Stacey Ford come from notable recruiting backgrounds.
Additionally, Jonathan Gress has been hired as the head football athletic trainer. A Norman native, Gress previously served as director of rehabilitation for the New Orleans Saints.
The appointments signal a transformative phase for Oklahoma Football, aiming to enhance recruitment and overall program efficacy as they prepare for the upcoming season.
