Press Release
STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State University’s women’s basketball team has announced key staff changes for the upcoming season. Coach Jacie Hoyt has appointed Terran Hoyt as an assistant coach and promoted Cali Mercer to director of basketball administration.
Terran Hoyt previously served as the program’s director of basketball administration and spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Kansas City while earning a master’s in higher education administration. As a player at Tabor College from 2018-20, she contributed to the team’s success by winning both the regular season and tournament KCAC titles, leading them to the NAIA national tournament in 2019. Hoyt was recognized as a Champion of Character award winner in her conference and graduated Summa Cum Laude with dual degrees in communications and business administration.
“Terran has been an instrumental piece in our success over the last few years,” Coach Hoyt stated. “Her dedication to mentoring young athletes and her remarkable recruitment abilities make her a valuable asset. She embodies our mission to not just excel in sports, but to also transform lives.”
Cali Mercer has been a member of the program for five seasons, spending four years as a student manager before transitioning to a graduate assistant role last year. A Miami, Okla., native, Mercer graduated with a degree in sports management and a minor in marketing in spring 2024. She received the Manager of the Year award from Grow the Game, an initiative aimed at connecting current and former student managers.
“Cali has been with me since I began at OSU,” Hoyt added. “Her organizational skills and passion for serving Oklahoma State will elevate our program. She is undoubtedly prepared for this new role.”
These appointments signal a strong commitment to building a successful and supportive environment for OSU Cowgirl Basketball.
