Expanded Roofing Grant Program Launches in Tulsa Area

The Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) is broadening its OKReady Strengthen Oklahoma Homes initiative by introducing eight new zip codes in the Tulsa region. Eligible homeowners can now apply for grants up to $10,000 to fund roofing improvements that adhere to FORTIFIED Home – Roof™ standards, coupled with a hail-resistant supplement.

The newly included zip codes are:

  • 74014 (East Broken Arrow)
  • 74063 (Sand Springs/East Keystone Lake)
  • 74107 (West Tulsa/Berryhill)
  • 74114 (Midtown Tulsa/E Gathering Place)
  • 74120 (Downtown Tulsa)
  • 74132 (SW Tulsa/Oaks CC/Riverside Airport)
  • 74437 (Henryetta/Rural Okmulgee County)
  • 74447 (Okmulgee)

These areas have been targeted due to their vulnerability to convective storms, with Ashley Scott, Deputy Commissioner of External Affairs and OKReady director, highlighting their significant storm impact. Factors such as contractor availability, claim frequency, and hail damage assessments were considered in the selection process.

Homeowners interested in the program can visit the OID website at oid.ok.gov/OKReady to apply. The online portal provides detailed eligibility requirements, necessary documentation lists, and outlines income-based application tiers. For further inquiries, residents can reach out to the program team at okready@oid.ok.gov.

This expansion reflects OID’s commitment to enhancing the resilience of local homes against storm damage, ensuring that affected communities have access to necessary resources for safer living conditions. The added support underscores a proactive approach to safeguarding Oklahoma residents against future weather-related challenges.
