Cornerback Danny Odem Chooses Nebraska Football Over Ohio State and Oklahoma

Nebraska Football Welcomes Four-Star Cornerback Danny Odem to 2026 Class

Nebraska football has solidified its 2026 recruiting class with the addition of four-star cornerback Danny Odem, who committed to the Cornhuskers on Monday afternoon. Odem, a promising 6-foot-1, 185-pound talent from Orlando, Florida, elected to join Nebraska over notable programs such as Ohio State, Penn State, Auburn, and Oklahoma.

In an engaging Instagram Live session, Odem revealed his decision by first referencing Penn State before surprising fans by donning a Nebraska cap. "I feel good to be a Nebraska Cornhusker. The relationships, the coaching staff, I feel we’re about to do something special," he expressed, highlighting the strong connections he has developed during his recruitment.

Ranked as the No. 22 cornerback in the nation and the No. 40 prospect in Florida according to 247Sports Composite, Odem’s athleticism and skill set are highly regarded. Andrew Ivins, Director of Scouting at 247Sports, describes him as possessing the "size-speed combination that everyone wants on the perimeter." Odem is noted for his effective coverage abilities, transitioning comfortably between zone and press-man coverage while demonstrating agility and physicality.

Now with Odem onboard, Nebraska’s 2026 recruiting class has grown to seven members. He is currently the only four-star player, joining six three-star commitments, including offensive linemen Hayden Ainsworth and Rex Waterman, tight end Luke Sorensen, wide receiver Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte, linebacker Jase Reynolds, and quarterback Dayton Raiola.

As Nebraska continues to build momentum with its recruiting efforts, fans are encouraged to stay updated on the latest Huskers news through dedicated platforms such as HuskerMax and Nebraska Cornhuskers on SI.
