OU Celebrates 129 Student-Athletes on SEC Academic Honor Roll
NORMAN, OK – The University of Oklahoma proudly announces that 129 of its student-athletes have been named to the 2025 Spring Southeastern Conference (SEC) Academic Honor Roll, released by the conference office on Thursday. This impressive tally reflects the academic dedication of athletes across various sports, including baseball, golf, softball, tennis, and track and field.
The awarded student-athletes demonstrated academic excellence, achieving a grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher during the specified academic terms: the 2024 Summer, 2024 Fall, and 2025 Spring semesters. Notably, the largest representation comes from track and field, with 56 athletes honored, followed by rowing with 32, and smaller groups from baseball (11), softball (8), and tennis (13).
To qualify for this achievement, student-athletes must meet several criteria, including maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00, completing required academic credit hours, and being actively involved in NCAA Championship sports. As a member of the SEC, Oklahoma has now celebrated a total of 253 selections to the Academic Honor Roll since joining the conference.
"Oklahoma’s student-athletes continually impress us with their balance of academic and athletic success," said a university spokesperson. "This recognition underscores their commitment and hard work both on the field and in the classroom."
The full list of honorees showcases diverse fields of study, with students pursuing degrees ranging from Psychology, Communication, and Management to more specialized programs like Biomedical Engineering and Health and Exercise Science.
With this achievement, the University of Oklahoma remains dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages academic success alongside competitive sports excellence.
