A tractor-trailer crash on I44 westbound near Joplin, Missouri caused traffic to slow down as emergency responders rushed to the scene. The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, with reports indicating that the semi-truck hit the right guardrail at the entrance of the Downstream Blvd overpass. The male driver, who was believed to have suffered a medical emergency, was receiving CPR at the scene while a female passenger remained unharmed. The extent of the driver’s injuries is unknown as he was transported to a nearby hospital. The damage to the truck was not severe, but wreckers were called in to move the semi back onto the roadway to prevent it from toppling into the grassy area. The Joplin Police Major Crash Team was also on site to investigate and map out the crash. Traffic was affected in the area as authorities worked to clear the scene.
